Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Fall 2025 To-Read List

Hello friends, and happy Tuesday! I’ve been excited about this prompt since I saw it a few weeks ago, because Fall is my heaviest reading season. Things settle down, the weather cools, and it’s finally nice enough to throw open the windows and cozy up underneath a blanket to read. I simply can’t wait to dive into my spooky season reading!

(Clicking the covers will take you to the GR pages.)

Books on My Fall 2025 To-Read List

Everything's Eventual by Stephen King

I’ve been meaning to reread this short story collection for a while, if I’m being honest. It’s one of those that has deep emotional connections for me from the first time I read it as an older teen though, and so I’ve been a little wary about whether or not it will hold up. After going to see THE LONG WALK in theaters though, it sifted back up into my brain and won’t let me go. So it’s now officially on the reading list!

If this cover immediately intrigued you, we can definitely be reader friends. Fall is very heavily my horror book time of year, and The Mean Ones looks deliciously diabolical. A twist on the “final girl” trope, I’m so intrigued to see where this one goes. It’s not out until next week, but I’m already on the waitlist at the library!

The Mean Ones by Tatiana Sclote-Bonne
The Deathly Grimm by Kathryn Purdie

I read the first in this duology earlier in the year, and I’ve been waiting patiently for my turn to read this one ever since then. If there’s one thing I love as much as horror novels, it’s dark fairy tale retellings. So, of course, this had to take a place on my reading list for the spookiest of seasons.

I haven’t read a Libba Bray book in a while, through no fault of this amazing author. I’ve just been so busy exploring I completely forgot how wonderfully written their books are. So when Under the Same Stars popped up on my library’s “to-watch” list I knew it was a sign. I can’t wait to dive in.

We Shall Be Monsters by Alyssa Wees

Again on the “it has been a while train” is my reading of any type of novel containing Fae and admittedly I kind of miss them. I wanted to find something to dip my toes back in, and this came recommended by a friend. I feel like the faefolk are also a part of this season, and there’s always something lovely about getting lost in some fantasy.

That’s my top 5 for the season, but to round it out here are 5 other very anticipated books on my Fall reading list!

Don’t Let the Forest In by C.G. Drews
The Wilderness of Girls by Madeline Claire Franklin
Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher
Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy
The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson
