It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (8/23/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! My part of Southern California is once again under an extreme heat warning, and so we’ve gone back to being inside people as much as possible. We go out to run errands early in the morning, or after it gets dark, because the rest of the day is just unbearably hot. If that’s true of your part of the world as well, I hope you’re staying cool and hydrated. Take care of yourself! Let’s see how my reading has been looking. Read Last Week: I finished up two books last week, and both were actually a…

Top Ten Tuesday: Book Series to Catch Up On or Start

Hello friends, and happy Tuesday! Los Angeles is back in the clutches of a heat wave and so it is the part of the year where I just pretty much exist inside. An outside event? Before it gets dark outside? No thank you. Anywhere that has A/C is where you’ll find me. On the weekends I’ll likely be posted up in front of a fan with a book. As it should be. I’ll give you 5 series up top with the first book in each series featured! Then scroll down to find 5 more as links. Clicking the covers will…

Can’t Wait Wednesday: Speculative Fiction Short Stories

Happy Wednesday friends! Here’s hoping that the week has been treating you nicely so far. I hope you’ve been staying cool, and reading all sorts of good books too. My book choice this week is one that caught my eye the instant I saw the synopsis. The very kind people at Harper Collins sent me an email to promo this book, and offer me a digital review copy. One look, and I immediately snapped it up. I LOVE speculative fiction. It’s a space where so many interesting things can happen, full of intrigue and sometimes even a bit of borderline…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (7/13/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! I know I haven’t been around for a pretty good while. I needed a break, and honestly I didn’t even know I needed a break until my brain just forced me to take one. I’ve still been reading a lot. More than normal actually. So I have good fodder for more posts in the future at least. I hope everyone has been doing well! Read Last Week: I only finished one book last week, but it was a good one! I borrowed The Love Haters by Katherine Center on a whim, and absolutely barreled through it…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (4/27/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! I hope this Monday is being kind to you so far. I’ve started doing analog Sundays, and slowly increasing my off social media time by a little more every few weeks. It has been lovely. It’s a lot easier to tackle the Monday scaries when you’ve had a relaxing day before that becomes the reality. Highly recommended! Now let’s see how my reading has been going, shall we? Read Last Week: I didn’t actually finish any books last week because work was absolutely insane, and all I wanted to do when I got home was watch…

Sunday Post #2: Spring is Here!

It is finally Spring my friends, and my heart couldn’t be happier! Unfortunately my favorite season was ushered in by a heatwave week, where we couldn’t open the house because it was over 90F outside every day. But yesterday and today are beautiful, and I’m enjoying it all while I can. Bees and butterflies abound! A quiet week, as work has crazy and it was just so hot outside not much motivation was had. And, if we’re being honest, probably a rambling post as well. I try to keep this blog a mix of posts that are book related and…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (3/9/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! I hope this Monday is treating you well, especially those of you who still have to deal with daylight savings time. I woke up to a very dark morning and I’m not afraid to admit that I’m fairly exhausted today. On the bright side, it was smooth sailing on the transit commute to work. So it’s not all bad. Let’s see how my reading has been going so far. Read Last Week: I only finished one book last week. My hold for Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews came in, and I’ve been in…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (2/9/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! I meant to come back to the blog last week, but it just didn’t happen. I didn’t realize how much the things going on around me lately were really affecting me until I hit the weekend and completely burnt out. So this last week I took things easy and was kind to myself. I’m feeling more refreshed, and I’m back! Read Last Week: Last week I finished up It Came From the Closet and I’m holding my review steady at four stars! I liked some of the essays more than others, and one of the narrators…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/26/26)

Happy Monday bookish people! I blinked and it’s nearly the end of January. Somehow this month has simultaneously felt endless and so short at the same time. Probably because I’m trying to balance doing things I enjoy (reading, puzzles, etc.) and staying updated with the goings-on in the world. It’s a wild rollercoaster for sure. Still, here we are at the end of the month! I’m pretty proud of how I did too. Let’s see how things are shaping up! Read Last Week: In my quest to complete NetGalley books I’ve neglected for too long, I borrowed The Nobody People…
