Cat isn't happy about leaving her friends for Bahía de la Luna, but Maya has cystic fibrosis and will benefit from the cool, salty air that blows in from the sea. Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books of 2022

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that your New Year’s celebrations were wonderful (or quiet is good too) and that you’re starting this year off well! I’m pretty pleased with easily I slipped into this new year, and how motivated I actually feel this time around. I think it helps that I’m not holding myself to any insane level of productivity. Just moseying along, and hoping that I can keep this fire lit even when it wanes a bit. But I digress, I’m here to talk about books! So without further ado, here’s this week’s prompt. Top Ten Books of 2022…

    Blog Goals for 2023

It’s that time. The time to set goals that I will try valiantly to stick to, and might actually partially succeed at hahaha. I always think of goals as more of a rough plan than anything else. Life happens. You can’t always prioritize what you want! But I still like to try to at least plan things out. So, here we go. Blog goals for 2023. — Post a review a weekI don’t think this one is going to be too hard, because I actually have been reading! Just…. not reviewing what I read. I’m out of practice. — Finish…

The week where time stands still

Am I the only one who constantly feels like the week between Christmas and New Year moves like absolute molasses? I always end up working. Everyone else is pretty much always on vacation. It just feels like I’m this little island who is waiting patiently for everyone else to return. *sigh* Ah well. At least it gives me time to plan for the blog in 2023. As you can tell, 2022 saw this blog sitting on the back burner a LOT. This was the year we went back to work in the office, and the little work/life balance that I…

    The Holiday Season Crazies

Ever since November started, it feels like things have been crazy busy. Which, in a way, is great! It’s made work fly by and also made it so that I had the best time at Thanksgiving. However since I’ve been so unorganized as well a lot of stuff has fallen to the wayside. Including, alas, my reading. I was aiming for 52 books this year and I’ve only made it to 46. That’s pretty good though, in my opinion! And since I’ve had more gems than duds, it’s hard to be mad about it. Now that I have some planners…

Book Review and Giveaway: The Guardian by Jen Colly

Prepared to die...fighting to live. Savard was in a mood to die, but when a human insists on saving his life, death is no longer an immediate option. Waking behind bars in an underground vampire city was not how Sera envisioned her night drive ending. She has come to expect nothing from those who pass through her life, but this man, dying on the…

Ah the Holiday Romances are here in full swing! I for one LOVE a good holiday romance story. Probably because I usually overbook myself and end up spending all of my time running around like a crazy person instead of relaxing. Cest la vie. Let There Be SnowCharlotte Rains DixonPublication date: November 3rd 2022Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Holiday, Romance Christmas isn’t Christmas without snow. So Dixie Dunham believes. But she’s about to experience a Christmas…

    A Common Cold

Being the responsible human I am, I went to go and get my COVID booster and my flu shot before I went on vacation. I knew I’d be seeing my baby niece, and so I was like “Let me just make sure I’ll stay well!” to convince myself to get shots. Friends, I was so proud of myself. And then I got a cold. Oh, and this cold. Awful. As I type this I keep having to take breaks to sneeze and wipe my eyes. It looks like I got punched in the nose. Ack. It’s a whole mess. I…
