Book Review: Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail (Bright Falls #2) by Ashley Herring Blake

Hart Ralston is a demigod and a marshal, tasked with patrolling the wasteland of Tanria. The realm the exiled old gods once called home is now a forsaken place where humans with no better options or no better sense come seeking adventure or spoils, but more often end up as drudges: reanimated corpses inhabited by the souls of those who’ve died in Tanria before. Hart tells himself that his job is simple: neutralize the drudges with a quick zap to the appendix and deliver them back to polite society at the nearest undertaker’s, leaving the whys and hows of the…

Book Blitz and Giveaway: Deadly Betrayal by Sheila Kell

Happy hump day friends! We made it half way through the week, huzzah! Today I have a fantastic new book for you to jump into. What better way to celebrate the post Valentine’s love fest than with a romantic suspense? Let’s go! Before she could turn, a deep, gravelly voice said, “Cassie?” She spun around, knowing who the voice belonged to, even though she’d last heard it on the man at seventeen years of age. Cassie’s breathless response of only “JD” undoubtedly expressed her surprise along with that flitter in her heart. His vivid blue eyes turned icy cold. “Who…

    A busy busy bee *buzz*

*emerges from the darkness* Hi…. I’m here! Did you think I disappeared? Oh, don’t worry. Me too. ANYWAY, through a series of really weird things it is February 9th and I have yet to post any of the things I’ve meant to do for the last week. Argh. Life. Why do you just want to fight me? I need to go back to pre-writing posts when I have the bandwith, so I can just post them. LOL. But alas, I did not do that. So here we are. This is just your reminder that is flu season, and please take…

    The sun finally emerges!

I was supposed to write you all a review for Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail yesterday, but the day was so tiring I didn’t. Instead, I told myself I’d write it today. Then I woke up with a mild migraine and decided today is not the day either. So, you get a rambling post instead. Hahaha. At least I have been keeping up better with posts, and it’s feeling rather good to be honest. Although we’re due for another rainstorm soon, this week has been blessedly sunny. Yesterday the temperature even got up into the low 70s, and I was like…

    Work Stuff and Exhaustion

Man, this week got away from me. I was so proud because I managed to post on Monday and then suddenly I blinked and it was Friday. It’s just been one of those kinds of weeks where the days blend in to one another, and I’m just helplessly dragged along. My transition at work is going smoothly, but it has also been a lot to deal with. Training someone else, while simultaneously being trained? Well, it’s a lot. I’m not even surprised that my brain pushed all things about the blog out. Hahaha. Happily though, I have been reading! It’s…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Happy Monday, and happy day off to anyone else who was able to have one today! I’m having a mild heart attack that it’s already the middle of the month. As a quick life update, I got a promotion! But the month of January was reserved for training my replacement and I can’t believe how quickly time has flown. Phew. At least it has been productive! I can even say the same for my reading. I’m actually on track this year, and reading things that I enjoy as well. It’s been so nice. That being said, let’s take a look…
