It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/20/14)
Click above to join in the fun! Last week was a quiet week of reading and reviewing. I took an impromptu vacation from work, and decided to spend my time doing other things besides being bookish :). It was awesome! Now I’m ready to dive back in! I didn’t finish all the books I set out to read last week, but I did make it through two! A Life of Death was surprisingly good. Definitely one that you don’t want to judge by its cover. Nightcrawlers was extremely creepy. Perfect for the horror-driven mood that I was in. Loved it! …

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/12/14)
Click above to join in the fun! I spent the last week participating in the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon 9.0! It was a great chance for me to get some hardcore reading done. I also got sick so, there’s that reason to stay home and read too. It’s been nice. So many great reads! Above are the three most recent books I’ve finished! Silent City by Alex Segura and The Obsidian Pebble by Rhys A. Jones both get honorable mentions. They were good, but not exactly what I was looking for. What the Dark Brings, on the other hand, gets five…

Waiting on Wednesday: The Queen of the Tearling
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. It’s hosted by Breaking the Spine. The book that I’m most looking forward to right now is The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen. Isn’t the cover just lovely? Plus I’m a sucker for anything Fantasy. It doesn’t release until July 8, 2014. I can’t wait! On her nineteenth birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (12/16/13)
Click above to join in the fun! It’s almost Christmas! Yes, yes, I know I’m an adult. Still, this time of year never fails to make me all giddy inside. It isn’t even the presents. It’s the feeling, the food, and the family! I can’t wait! I made it through three books again this last week. All pleasure reads, no review books. I’m trying to take a break so that I’ll go in with a clear mind in 2014! I loved The Grimm Legacy and can’t wait to finish the series. I’d already read Pure, but decided to give…

Choosing Favorites: And…Discuss!
And…Discuss is a way for me to share a topic I’ve been thinking about, ramble about it for a bit, and then open the floor to your opinions. An open forum for bookaholics! This time the topic is…. Here’s a topic I always think about near the end of the year. A time where Top 10 lists pop up like mad, people reminisce about their favorite reads of the year, and I sit back and ponder what series to continue with. A time of reading reflection if you will! I generally don’t do end of the year lists, mainly because it’s…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (10/14/2013)
Happy Monday everyone! Yes, yes I know. No one really loves Mondays do they? Or maybe you do if they are the start to your weekend, but despite that it’s a new week and I demand we make it fabulous! Bring on a good week! Preferably with some great reads? Here’s what I’ve been up to. Last week I made it through three different books. Two were for blog tours, and Scorched I read purely for the fun of it! You’ve got to keep things fresh, right? All of them garnered 3 stars from this reader, although Scorched ended up my favorite.…
