It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (7/14/14)

Click above to join in the fun! It’s a new week, and  that means it’s time to share what I’m reading! I love this meme, because it’s a ton of fun to discover new books from other’s book shelves :). Let’s do this!    Last week I finished up three reads that were across the board! First off, Unwept wasn’t quite what I was expecting it to be. It was… odd. Death’s Academy was funny, and a great book for middle grade readers! As for The Naturals, it was my favorite of the week. So good! I love books about serial killers,…

    Waiting on Wednesday (7/2/14)

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. It’s hosted by Breaking the Spine. This finally has a cover! I’ve been waiting eagerly for Lauren Oliver’s new book to pop up with a cover so that I could choose it for Waiting on Wednesday. Rooms looks like it’s going to be a book that’s right up my alley, and everyone knows that I already have a ton of love for Lauren Oliver anyhow. Argh, I can’t wait for this to release! WANT! The New York Times bestselling author of Before I Fall and…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (6/23/14)

Click above to join in the fun! It’s a new week, and  that means it’s time to share what I’m reading! I love this meme, because it’s a ton of fun to discover new books from other’s book shelves :). Let’s do this!   I was given a copy of Fires of Man by Dan Levinson himself, and reviewed it on the blog as part of his blog tour. I’ll be posting a guest post of his tomorrow as well! I read Gone Girl as a buddy read with one of my author friends on BookLikes :). Thank goodness for that. I…

    Waiting on Wednesday (6/4/2014)

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. It’s hosted by Breaking the Spine. Okay I think it’s fair to say that I’m not the only one waiting on this book. To all the Throne of Glass fans out there, waiting for Heir of Fire is like trying to avoid a giant bar of chocolate sitting on the table. It’s nearly impossible I tell you! I got super lucky to get approved for it on NetGalley, but since it doesn’t release until September I’m too scared to start it yet. I’ll have to…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (4/21/14)

Click above to join in the fun! I just realized how long it has been since I’ve participated in this meme! I used to do it pretty regularly, because I love finding new books on others’ shelves. So, I’m participating today! I think I’ll try to keep this going at least twice a month. It’s a fun way to interact with fellow bookworms. So, without further ado, here’s what’s going on in this bookworm’s reading life.   I was reading The Rosie Project with my book club, and I loved it so much that I didn’t manage to stick to the…

    Waiting on Wednesday (4/9/2014)

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. It’s hosted by Breaking the Spine. The book that I’m most looking forward to right now is The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey. This is the second book in The Fifth Wave series and I’m so excited for it to come out! I finished the last book with my mouth gaping open. I absolutely need to know what happens next. Alas, it doesn’t release until September. So I’ll have to keep waiting :).  How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of…

    The Dreaded DNF: And…Discuss!

And…Discuss is a way for me to share a topic I’ve been thinking about, ramble about it for a bit, and then open the floor to your opinions. An open forum for bookaholics! What I love most about these posts is seeing your comments, so share away :). This time the topic is… I’ve mildly touched on this subject here before, but it’s been a few years and my opinions have changed! It used to be that I couldn’t bring myself to mark a book as DNF. I’d struggle through, even when I wasn’t enjoying myself. Why? I can’t really…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/20/14)

Click above to join in the fun! Last week was a quiet week of reading and reviewing. I took an impromptu vacation from work, and decided to spend my time doing other things besides being bookish :). It was awesome! Now I’m ready to dive back in!   I didn’t finish all the books I set out to read last week, but I did make it through two! A Life of Death was surprisingly good. Definitely one that you don’t want to judge by its cover. Nightcrawlers was extremely creepy. Perfect for the horror-driven mood that I was in. Loved it!  …

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/12/14)

Click above to join in the fun! I spent the last week participating in the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon 9.0! It was a great chance for me to get some hardcore reading done. I also got sick so, there’s that reason to stay home and read too. It’s been nice. So many great reads!   Above are the three most recent books I’ve finished! Silent City by Alex Segura and The Obsidian Pebble by Rhys A. Jones both get honorable mentions. They were good, but not exactly what I was looking for. What the Dark Brings, on the other hand, gets five…
