It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/8/18)
The first one of these in January, and I’m so pleased with how strong I’ve started out this year! Let me tell you, I was in a hardcore slump the majority of last year. I’d sway in and out, but my reading was nowhere near where it normally is. This year I’m feeling good. I’m taking it slow, and reading what I want, and it’s going well. Here’s my first status update of the year! Can you believe I’ve already powered through 3 books this year? I’m even proud of myself. I picked up The Frog Princess as a light, fun…

2018 Popsugar Reading Challenge!
Hey y’all! As I mentioned in last week’s post, I’ve been scarce this year and I’m definitely aware of that. The good news is that it gave me some time to recharge. 7 years of running this blog had taken a toll, and I really needed some time to step away and love reading again. That break was good for me, and the fact that I missed doing this, and missed interacting with all of you, made me feel great! I’m ready to come back. So let’s kick off a new year of blogging, with week-long wrap up of last…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (11/13/17)
Hello bookish friends! Am I the only one who is having a mild meltdown at the fact that Thanksgiving is next week, the month is almost over, and that means that Christmas and New Year are right around the corner? I set a goal to read 120 books this year, to keep things calm and simple, and I might actually not hit that. It’s been a great year so far, just not quite a great one for reading. The good news is that I’m not super worried about it. If I’ve been slacking off on blogging as much as I…

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, and so I thought I’d bring you some highlights of what I’ve been doing with my free time lately! Yes, I’ve been in a reading slump for a while. The good news is that I’ve taken up cross stitch and embroidery again, and found some amazing bookish goodies in the process! Waiting on Wednesday (8/16/17)
So, I am actually drafting this post on a Saturday, which feels a little bit like cheating hahahaha. That doesn’t change the fact that this is a book that I’m extremely excited for though! Things are settling back down to normal speed, thank goodness, and home life has gotten more calm. We’re learning what things we can cut back a bit on, and what things we can make easier on ourselves so that there’s more down time. I missed have down time. Anyway, back to the book I’m excited for! A simple but forgotten truth: Where harbingers of death appear,…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (8/7/17)
How is it possible that it’s already August? Ack. I feel like this year is speeding by, and I’m barely hanging on by a thread. Reading and blogging have taken a back seat to other things lately, because if there’s one thing I learned last year it’s how to recognize when I needed to step back and chill. I’ve learned what the signs of oncoming depression look like, and I’ve gotten pretty okay at maneuvering myself out of the way. My days lately have been spent curling up in my new reading chair, embroidering, and devouring audio books. It actually…

Books For You Ears – Audio Book Recommendations!
Ah, audio books. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Truth be told, almost 1/3 of the books that I finish every month are audio books. I pop one on to zone out on the train ride to/from work, to relax in my hammock and take in the day, or even to amuse me while I clean or cook. I’ve worked my way through hundreds of audio masterpieces, and even a few duds. I’ve found narrators that I absolutely adore, and ones that I’m not too fond of. I’m here to share some of that knowledge with…

Today’s spotlight is on one of my favorite shops, and people: Luna Love by Corrina! =================================================================== Now not only is Corinna a totally fabulous person,…

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (5/15/17)
I hope all our bookish mommies out there had a fabulous Mother’s Day! At the very least, I hope that you had some time to sit around, relax, and read. That, right there, seems like a pretty good gift to me. I spent my weekend, once again, playing catch up. The good news is that I had some time to write some of my backlog reviews down, so you’ll get more content this week! I’m really trying to get more organized again, so I don’t leave you with long bouts of radio silence. Here’s how my reading has been shaping…
