How reviewing has made me grow as a reader!

So to those of you who have been reading my blog this last week, you know I am fairly new at this whole book blogging thing. I saw so many amazing blogs around me, discussing books, giving them away, sharing the love, and I decided that I wanted to be a part of that too! I couldn’t believe how many new books I discovered just from following these blogs. (See my journey into YA here if you want to know how that happened.) My two loves, books…and yarn. Right before that, I had set a goal for myself for 2010.…

    Book Review: Tithe

Sixteen-year-old Kaye is a modern nomad. Fierce and independent, she travels from city to city with her mother’s rock band until an ominous attack forces the sixteen-year-old back to her childhood home. There, amid the industrial, blue-collar New Jersey backdrop, Kaye soon finds herself an unwilling pawn in an ancient power struggle between two rival faerie kingdoms — a struggle that could very well mean her death. –From Goodreads Cover Inspection: The wings on this cover are absolutely gorgeous! First Thoughts: Kaye is my kind of girl. *** My Review: Tithe is a very well put together story. From the first…

    Book Review: Wings

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words. Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever. –From Goodreads Cover Inspection: I love this cover so very very much. It’s too gorgeous for words! First Thoughts: Pure magic. *** My Review: Enchanting. That is the first word that comes to mind to describe this book! Aprilynne…
