Random Books: The Love Edition
Welcome to another edition of Random Books! This is a feature where I type a chosen word into the Goodreads search bar, and choose three books that catch my eye. You then get the random thoughts that go through my head as I learn about the book. It’s a fun way to discover new books! *** The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women is a fairly typical all-girls school—that is, if every school teaches advanced martial arts in PE, chemistry always consists of the latest in chemical warfare, and everyone breaks CIA codes for extra credit in computer class. So…

Time to do some hopping and following!
Today’s question is: When you read a book that you just can’t get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title? I subscribe to the rule that if I’m not smitten with a book within 100 pages, I put it aside in favor of another book! Why? There are way too many books out there that I want to read to slog through a book that I’m really not feeling. Don’t judge me….I see that look. Of course there have been exceptions for me, especially with ARC tours. If I’m given a book for…

Blog Tour: The Ice Cream Theory – Steff Deschenes’ Guest Post
Today I am more than pleased to welcome Steff Deschenes, author of The Ice Cream Theory, to my blog! Her book is pure cuteness at the surface, but it has an underlying hard truth to it I loved! You’ll get the full review tomorrow so stop back by! For now though, I’ll give the floor to Steff and let her carry you away with her amazing wit and love of ice cream. I created something called The Ice Cream Theory when I was a teenager which became an twelve-time award winning book in my twenties. It was my own unique…

Nightshade Cover Recreation Contest
The Book Vixen is hosting a cover recreation contest! This time it’s for one of my new absolute favorite books, Nightshade, by Andrea Cremer. So of course you know I had to participate right? Here is the original book cover: and here is mine! What do you think? Yes, I know Calla doesn’t have purple hair. I took some creative license with that! I wanted her to stand out in front of the two men that she is torn over. I’m going to have to say that although it’s not perfect, this is my favorite cover that I’ve done so…

Lena Holway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy. But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love. — From Goodreads Cover…

Horror movies to DIE for!
It’s my first Halloween season on my blog! Which means that most of you probably don’t know that this is my absolute favorite holiday. Oh no, it’s not the costumes (although those are fun), it’s not even the candy (although I do eat my fair share). Nope, it’s the celebration all things creepy, gory and those that go bump in the night! I LOVE Horror movies. So much in fact that I’m fairly desensitized to most of them. That means it is only a REALLY well made and terrifying movie that can scare the pants off me. Today I thought…

Book Review: The Maze Runner
When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. He has no recollection of his parents, his home, or how he got where he is. His memory is black. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade, a large expanse enclosed by stone walls.
