It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (9/29/25)

Happy Monday bookish people!

This morning started with a doctor’s visit and some updated vaccines, so I’m feeling a bit sluggish today. I’m at home though, so I’m able to work from my bed and drink plenty of tea. So it’s all good! I actually had a really relaxing weekend, with ample time to read books. As the weather cools down, I become more and more myself.

Read Last Week:

After having Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson on my shelf since approximately 6 months before it actually released, I finally read it! Spoiler alert: I really enjoyed it. A review will be coming soon!

I was also approved to read the English translation of My Life As An Internet Novel and immediately snapped it up. Man, it was SO GOOD. I can’t believe I have to wait until February for the next one. *sigh*

Rounding out my week, I finished up the audio of The Dead of Summer by Ryan La Sala which was… I really don’t have words honestly. Creepy doesn’t even begin to cut it. This one is going to be hard to review.

Currently Reading:

Godkiller by Hannah Kaner has been on my reading list for so long. Luckily my book club decided to read it this month and so I’ve had an excuse to dive in. So far? Adore. I’m listening to the audio and it’s one of those that I am super invested in.

I’m also reading Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. When I get stressed, I inevitably turn to a horror book. This particular one is set from the perspective of a young girl who is being haunted, and focuses how hard she’s trying to make sense of it all. And it’s CREEPY. So much so, I had to put it down for a bit because I needed some lighter. But I’m going to finish it. I need to know what happens.

Reading Next:

Next up on the reading list is Death Takes Me by Cristina Rivera Garza. There is a big rift in the people who either like or really don’t like this book. So I’m excited to see where I fall on the scale. My library hold is finally coming in and I can’t wait!
