It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (7/14/25)

Happy Monday bookish people!

I’m flagging this Monday morning, and really just trying to motivate myself to make it through the week. I’m hoping that you’re doing a little bit better than I am, and that your weekend was lovely! Hopefully you had the chance to sit down and read. Maybe you ate some great snacks. Maybe you got some sunshine? Whatever you did, I hope that it was a great refresh to start the new week.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at where things are this week, shall we?

Read Last Week:

Last week I finally finished The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer! I say finally, because although it was a lovely audio book I was just having the hardest time sitting and getting lost in it. I blame my brain lately. I also finished Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake. It was my train read, and honestly just fluffy enough to really help me not think about current events for a short period. Not my favorite of her books, but I did enjoy it!

Currently Reading:

I’ve been wanting to read This Princess Kills Monsters by Ry Herman ever since I first set eyes on this GORGEOUS cover. So when my new Libro.fm credit came in I immediately snatched it up. Friends, it’s so good. So funny! So cozy! So low-stakes and the absolute perfect read for anyone out there who just needs to get lost for a while. I’m in love. Not done yet, but still very much in love.

I’m also reading Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. When I get stressed, I inevitably turn to a horror book. This particular one is set from the perspective of a young girl who is being haunted, and focuses how hard she’s trying to make sense of it all. And it’s CREEPY. So much so, I had to put it down for a bit because I needed some lighter. But I’m going to finish it. I need to know what happens.

Reading Next:

Next up I’ll finally be able to dive into Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. I was so eager to get a hardcover that I forgot how heavy they are, and so this hasn’t been able to travel with me haha. But this weekend I am free to read! So I’m going to settle down with this and get lost in what I already know is going to be an amazing story.

That’s it for me! What are you reading this week?
