It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (1/3/22)

Happy first Monday of the new year, my bookish friends!

I hope that so far this year is treating you well, and that you’re having a lot of fun planning out your new year of reading (or not, if that’s not your jam)! I, for one, am trying to take the “plan less” approach this year. Other than review books that I have to read by a specific date, I’m planning on just picking up whatever strikes my fancy. I honestly can’t wait to see what I uncover.

So in that spirit, let’s see how the year has started off!

Read Last Week:

This is empty this week, unsurprisingly. Starting off a fresh year of reading!

Currently Reading:

I picked this up last year during a book sale, and since it was the first thing to download to my new Kindle I decided to crack it open! I love going into books blind. Whitesands first felt like a cop procedural, and my brain was totally on board with that. But now? Oh friends, there’s a supernatural element that’s added in. My enjoyment of this book increased two fold, and I can’t wait to see what happens at the end!

Reading Next:

Later this week, I’ll be reviewing Love At First Spite by Anna E. Collins. This looks so fun, and like the perfect light read to start the year off with! I’ve been excited about this for a while, because I love me a good “enemies to lovers” trope. Review coming soon!

That’s it for me! What are you reading this week?

I’m reading The Zombies That Ate the World, the French graphic novel series, but it’s pretty gross and disappointing because I’ve loved his other work. Might switch back to Red Hood/Arsenal again.

Just finishing up The Gene: An Intimate History by Siddhartha Mukherjee! It’s interesting, but parts of it can get a little dry.
