Feature Posts/Weekly Memes

A little of this, a little of that!

First off, it’s Friday! That means it’s time for the Book Blogger Hop!

This is a weekly event where book bloggers and readers can connect to find new blogs to read. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers and make new friends!

To participate, head over to Crazy-for-Books and leave your link, then do some hopping!

In other news, I finished Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson today. It was so hard.  This put was put down at least 8 separate times, in which I had to run for another book to stop me from feeling so angry or depressed. Still, it is so well written and totally worth at read. It might be hard, but why allow ourselves to shy away from the truth? If I didn’t understand the emotional and mental pain of these eating disorders before, I definitely have a much better idea of them now.

I need a little time to process how I feel before I write a review, so the review will likely go up tomorrow.

Here is a quote that stuck with me:

I want to go to sleep and not wake up, but I don’t want to die. I want to eat like a normal person eats, but I need to see my bones or I will hate myself even more and I might cut out my heart or take every pill that was every made.  ~Pg. 203

Also this morning I posted an article on NetGalley and I’d really love some more feedback! The comments I’ve gotten so far were great and I’m happy I was able to bring this amazing site onto other people’s radar. Have an opinion? Yay or nay? Voice it here.

I LOVE your thoughts on Net Galley – I love that site, and it's soo true – I just got an ereader, but even with out one, it's a wonderful site! I hope more publishers get in over there! 🙂

I have yet to pick up Wintergirls, I want to, but not sure when – it's a hard topic!

I also see you have Seers of Light in your Book Shelf – 😀 That makes me so happy, I loved that book with a passion! I hope you do as well!
