A Quiet Sunday

Greetings all!
Yes, I know. It’s been pretty quiet in here. I stopped my book to take a break, and realized that I haven’t posted in here in quite a bit of time. Ever since I promised myself that I’d take it easy this year, it has been a lot easier to step away when I feel like blogging is too much to have on my plate. I, of course, wanted to get good at scheduling posts in advance for just such an occasion but… well… we’re going to keep working on that.
Anyway, it’s a pretty quiet Sunday here in the Nottingham household. I’ve been reading on a blanket on the lawn, with that giant pup up there keeping me company. Of course she isn’t the best reading buddy sometimes. Especially when she picks up her toy and drops it, quite unceremoniously, directly onto the book I’m reading. She demands attention and, per cute puppy momma rules, I oblige. I’ve really only read about 2 chapters in total today, but I’ll take it.
This has become my new Sunday zen ritual. A blanket on the grass, a book to read, a puppy to play with, and (hopefully) a lot of sun to enjoy. It has helped massively with my anxiety and, actually, gotten to me read even more than last month! That does mean I need to translate that into review writing but, one thing at a time I’m just thrilled that I’m no longer in my 2016 reading slump.
I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend as well! Rest assured, there are posts aplenty coming this week. Thanks for sticking with us, even when we take some time off.
