Book Spotlight: Erin from CTBookGirl

Welcome to a new post series here on Hopelessly Devoted Bibliophile! Back when I first started this blog, I used to interview other bloggers and share their content. I’ve missed doing that so much! It was a great way to get to know others who share the same passion, and give some much deserved love to amazing creators. So, it’s time to do that again! Check this space every other Saturday for a new spotlight, and click here if you’d like to sign up to be a spotlight yourself!

Our spotlight today is Erin from CTBookGirl!

I won’t lie, I absolutely started following Erin because her adorable dog features in a lot of her posts. Hahaha. I’m a simple girl. However, I can’t deny that her pictures are also stunning, and her books choices are on point! If you’re looking for some in-depth reviews, this is absolutely a page that you need to follow. If you don’t believe me though, you can always go check things out for yourself.

Okay, time for me to stop rambling, and let you all get to know Erin a bit better. Please enjoy a short interview with her below, and don’t forget to take some time to go and visit her!

Lightning round questions! Please answer with 15 words or less:

One book I would always recommend is Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. So powerful and still timely.

If I had to pick a favorite genre it would be Memoir because I love getting a peek behind the scenes.

I would describe myself as sarcastic, fun., a Homebody, Enneagram 2,  a lover of Broadway & Target and a meme addict!

Can you share why you decided to start a bookstagram/blog?

I liked the idea of having an outlet solely dedicated to my reading life. It’s been amazing to look back to see what I’ve read during certain seasons of my life.

What is your favorite part about the bookish community?

My reading world has exploded since joining bookstagram. I’ve learned about so many authors and genres I might not otherwise have explored. I had never read “foodie memoirs” until bookstagram and now it’s one of my most favorite genres.

If we were to peek into your space right now, what collections (other than books of course) would we find?

My reading world has exploded since joining bookstagram. I’ve learned about so many authors and genres I might not Journals! I am a complete journal/notebook hoarder. I don’t even use half of them but I can’t stop buying them!

Where is your favorite place to read, and what absolutely needs to be there to make it feel perfect?

The sunroom in our house! It’s wall-to-wall windows so there is a ton of natural light and it’s also heated so I can be in there year-round.  I need soft pillows, a cozy blanket, and my puppy to make the experience complete.

Lastly, what is one page (bookstagram or blog) that inspires you and you would LOVE to share with others?

I am a huge fan of Morgan Harper Nichols. She is an incredible artist and author. She always knows just what to say and how to say it. To me, her words are like a soft blanket. https://morganharpernichols.com/ or on IG: @morganharpernichols

Our next spotlight will be in two weeks! Until then, happy reading.
