Sending you so many hugs.

Oh friends, it has been a month hasn’t it? Full transparency, I write my posts for the next week on Friday evenings most times, to kind of get ahead so I can enjoy a weekend of reset. So when I wrote my Monday post on Friday evening I was in a much different headspace than when the weekend was over. I haven’t been around here to post because my mental health has admittedly been terrible this week. If that’s you too, I’m sending you the biggest hugs ever.

Today the majority of my city is shutdown for the nationwide boycott and, although I have to work (essential and all that), I’m using today for reflection and resolve. Since last January I’ve been very vocal on my social media about where I stand on the things happening right now. I believe everyone deserves love, dignity, and that there none of us are safe until all of us are safe. This last year I’ve been doing my best to help, with mutual aid donations and volunteering for organizations that make calls, write letters, and do outreach. But, as a lot of people much smarter than me have to constantly remind me, we all need to take breaks. Burnout is very real.

So if you too are exhausted after a week of constant news that feels too heavy to shoulder, you’re not alone. Take a deep breath. Take a break. Re-center yourself. Then get back out there and do whatever good you can.

Regular posts will resume on Monday.

Leave Some Love!
