    Thanks for sticking with me.

I realize this week has been patchy and a whole lot of nothing! I’m going through a period right now where the time change, work changes, and life changes are all conspiring against me to make me want to sit around and do nothing. Well, sometimes that includes reading, but I haven’t felt up to reviewing. I’m back though! Tomorrow I’ll be posting a review of Angelology and the rest of the week is mapped out too. I’m feeling better after my week of sloth :). Hugs!

    A lack of reviews….

So this week I fully intended to catch up on reviews. I’ve honestly read 4 books this week, but I haven’t been in the mood to sit down and review them. I devoured them, loved them, graded them on Goodreads and moved on. I actually think this is good for me. For a while I was in a reading funk and I finally seem to be out. Maybe because this week I didn’t have any previous commitments and so I’ve been reading what I want :). Point being, you won’t see too many reviews this week. Just randomness. I’m enjoying my freedom…

    Book Review: I Am J

“Hola, Jeni.” J spun. His stomach clenched hard, as though he’d been hit. It was just the neighbor lady, Mercedes. J couldn’t muster a hello back, not now; he didn’t care that she’d tell his mom he’d been rude. She should know better. Nobody calls me Jeni anymore. J always felt different. He was certain that eventually everyone would understand who he really was: a boy mistakenly born as a girl. Yet as he grew up, his body began to betray him; eventually J stopped praying to wake up a “real boy” and started covering up his body, keeping himself…

The Fanatic Report – Week of 2/28 to 3/6

I really need to make a new button for this, but since I haven’t had time to do this feature in…well months…I just never got around to it. However it’s coming back! I’ll have a new button next week. The Fanatic Report is a collection of all things happening on the blog from the week before and the week to come. It’s also a bevy of random things I’ve found, things I think are cool, and the like. In other words, it’s utter chaos. ENJOY! *** In case you missed it: 2/28 – I reviewed The Midnight Tunnel: A Suzanna Snow Mystery by…

    Book Review: Like Mandarin

It’s hard finding beauty in the badlands of Washokey, Wyoming, but 14-year-old Grace Carpenter knows it’s not her mother’s pageant obsessions, or the cowboy dances adored by her small-town classmates. True beauty is wild-girl Mandarin Ramey: 17, shameless and utterly carefree. Grace would give anything to be like Mandarin. When they’re united for a project, they form an unlikely, explosive friendship, packed with nights spent skinny-dipping in the canal, liberating the town’s animal-head trophies, and searching for someplace magic. Grace plays along when Mandarin suggests they run away together. Blame it on the crazy-making wildwinds plaguing their Badlands town. Because…
