Books to Start 2022 – A Quick List

I am monumentally poor at sticking to a real TBR each month. I’ll admit it! I always set one, and then end up frolicking off to some other book that catches my eye, or doing a reread because it’s something that I feel like at the moment. Since I know that about myself, I’ve stopped making monthly TBRs. Instead, I’ve decided to pinpoint three books that I’d like to tackle each quarter of the year, and just fit them in when I can! So here’s the first three that I’ve decided to start with. First off is this delightful novel…

    Blog Goals for 2022

It’s been quite a while since I’ve actually set blog goals, mainly because I went through a phase where setting any kind of goal just sounded too stressful. Between going back to school, the ongoing pandemic, and working hard to understand my anxiety, I’ve been at max for work done. Still, I do miss setting at least a few intentions for the new year. It gives me something to focus on, and reminds me that this is my space! It can look like, and be, whatever I want it to be. So let’s set some goals, shall we? Goal #1…

    Year-End Reading Check In

Hi friends! Happy Thursday, aka the day we all wish would hurry by so that we can get straight to Friday. I hope that this week has treated you well. There are so few sleeps until Christmas, and I know that a lot of you out there are just excited to get to the celebrating as I am! While I wait though, I’ve been revisiting this last year. Combing through the blog, to get an idea of what I want to tackle in 2022. Setting up a reading list of possibilities for some reading challenges that I’m eyeing. It’s been…

    Books I Missed in 2021

Inevitably, every year I get to the last month and realize that there were so many books on my radar that I just never got to. It’s a fact! I mean, so many amazing stories come out month after month. I’d need to be immortal to give them all of the love they deserve. However, there are always a few books that I was SO EXCITED for and then things got busy or I had too many review books to read, and they just vanished into the ether. This is a post to honor the top 5 of these books.…

    2021 Wrap Up Time!

It’s the beginning of December, and that means it’s wrap up month! You can expect to see various posts this month talking about this last year on the blog, and what we hope to see coming up in the new year! To say that 2021 was a weird year would be an understatement. It was almost worse than 2020, mainly because I kept having so many feelings about whether things would get better or not. I sent the bar low on my reading goal, because I knew (from a whole year of experience) that my attention span wouldn’t be great.…

    A Half Year Reading Update

You’ve heard me say, time and time again, that it has been a weird reading year. The fact of the matter is that I went from reading 150+ books a year, down to (so far) reading 14 books. However I’m here to tell you that it’s actually starting to grow on me! Not only is this what my brain has needed, but it has allowed me to really enjoy all of the reading that I have done. It’s been a good year of reading so far friends. I thought I’d break it down here. I’m only going through the end…

    April 2019 Wrap Post

Happy Tuesday lovely people, and happy end of April! While last month felt like it flew by, this month felt long enough that it more than made up for it. So, I’m ready to say goodbye to April. Come on May! Be a good month? Please? I haven’t done a wrap post in quite a while, so I thought it was time! It’s actually been a pretty amazing reading year so far. I’ve worked my way through 55 books! Here’s the breakdown for April. We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett 5 Stars This book was amazing. Bleak, yes, but…

    Best of 2018!

I actually wasn’t going to do one of these posts, because I was in a funk and feeling like it was too much work. Then, I started The Kiss Quotient. and then I finished it, and now my heart is so light. You won’t be surprised to find that book on this list now, will you? Plus, I may have cheated a little bit because I’m doing this by month. So you’ll get my top book from each of the 12 months of 2018. And away we go! January 2018 Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang November 14, 2017…

    December 2018 Reading List

The last month of the year is upon us! How crazy is that? It feels like only yesterday that I was making resolutions for this blog in the spirit of 2018 headed our way, and valiantly planning a new reading list. I have to say, although 2018 didn’t turn out quite the way I planned it to for this blog, this year was much better than the last. So, baby steps and all that. Sometimes life doesn’t let us do what we’d planned. That being said, I’m 11 books away from my yearly goal of 120, and not 100% sure…

    August Reading List

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, for good reason actually. I’ve been so all over the place that setting any reading goals seemed like an easy way to weight myself down. I’m not good at failing. Hahaha. I’m getting better slowly, but I just figured it wasn’t worth feeling down about not getting what I wanted to get read, actually read. Now that life has settled, and I feel good, I’m going to set a small goal. Only 3 books this month, and here they are. I’m only 3% into Kill the Farm Boy and this book…
