Pi Day!
HAPPY PI DAY! Ah, Pi day. You beautiful 3.14 day, you. I love you forever for giving me an excuse to eat ALL THE PIE. Which, of course, I did. Savory pies make an excellent lunch. Although, I still have yet to eat a sweet pie. So, we must remedy that. You know who loves pie more than I do though? (And, who just so happens to be dreamy beyond belief?) DEAN WINCHESTER. Anyway, I just wanted to pop in, give you some Dean and vanish! Moving is going great, but it’s eating up time and I haven’t been reading…

2016: The Year We Found Our Castle
Okay, so I don’t actually have a castle. That’d be way too much cleaning, and much too drafty for my liking. I’d have to invite all of you to come and stay too, because I hate empty space. Yeah, no castles for this girl. However my husband and I are calling this “The Year We Found Our Castle”, because our last name is Nottingham, and we’ve found a home. Get it? Yeah, it’s cheesy. I’m owning it! So yes! We’ve found a home. A real, actual house to call our very own. As renters for the last 9 years, we’ve…

On the dreaded TBR.
Isn’t this picture pretty? A shoutout to Pexels, which has some of the best free stock photos that I’ve seen. Some people are just expert photographers. Anyway, today I’m here to talk about the DREADED TBR. You know the one. You read a book, you add three books. You read ten books during a read-a-thon, and then promptly add fifteen more because all of the books everyone else read just look so amazing that you can’t resist. I think every bookworm has one of these, and I’m here to tell you one thing: Don’t feel bad about it. Seriously, don’t. Somewhere…

On reading what you want.
Last year I began my obsession with books that held both pictures, and words. Yes friends, I toed the comic and graphic novel waters. I inched my way in, starting with things that were popular and well-received, then slowly treading into deeper water. What I found astounded me. Suddenly, there was a whole new world of media to appreciate. I had my novels, I had my trades and my floppies, and life was good. Then, guilt set in. To those of you who set reading goals on Goodreads, or BookLikes, or any of the various places us bookworms inhabit, you’ll…

Working on 2016 Reading/Blogging Goals
So as I review what I’ve done in 2016 so far, one thing is painfully obvious: I haven’t found my groove yet. 2015 was a year of changes. My whole life was upset, rearranged, and reassembled. At the end of the day, it all turned out for the best. I’m as blessed as I’ve ever been and so darn happy. The downside is that I still haven’t found a new schedule to match this new reassembled life. My cooking has suffered, my exercise, and even my reading. It’s been a jarring situation. So in 2016 I’m hoping to change that.…

The holiday season is upon us!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Greetings awesome readers! It’s been a whirlwind of a week, but there was much joy to be had. Spending time with family, eating superbly delicious food, and relaxing instead of being at work. What more can a girl ask for? The holiday season is definitely my favorite time of the year, but above all else it’s Christmas that makes me smile the most. There’s something about the holiday. All the red, gold and white. The love that is spread. It’s almost like people are a little nicer to one another for a…

Warmth.
In truth, my coffee is hardly ever this fancy. Unless I feel like dropping the money on the posh coffee place that’s downstairs at my work. I sure do love this picture though. It whispers “WARMTH” to me, and at this time of year that’s what I love. Thanks for sticking with me, my awesome blog readers, through this weird transition month. If you noticed, I’ve posted a lot more. It feels good. I’ll admit it. The connection that I used to have with this bookish space is slowly coming back, and I’m thrilled! Last year was a rough one.…

Books, Blogging and Babies
Greetings friends and fellow bookworms. Life has been a bit crazy these last few months so I figured a little update was in order. This little lady has been keeping me very busy but it is definitely time well spent. Unfortunately some of my hobbies have taken a backseat, including reading and blogging. Before I gave birth I had lots of input from moms about how much reading time they got in the early days. Some said they read so much more in the early weeks of their child’s life and some didn’t read for months. I would have to…

Kicking things off.
So, this post is a little late. Better late, than never, right? I almost missed the first day of November, and my pledge to post once a day this month. It’s been an insanely busy, but also extremely fun weekend. This time before I head to bed is the first downtime I’ve had. I’m not upset :). It was all well worth it! I just didn’t want to miss post #1. I thought I’d share really quickly what I hope to get out of all this, since Saturdays and Sundays are set aside for “free writing”. The truth is, most…

NaBloPoMo in November
Consider this a heads-up, but I’m planning on participating in NaBloPoMo in November! Most everyone knows about NaNoWriMo and the cheering squads that help make writing less of a burden for all of those people out there who need some motivation. I was happy to find out that there’s the same type of thing for bloggers! Let’s be honest. Blogging is great. It’s also exhausting, and time consuming. Sometimes ruts are fallen into. It happens. I need something to pull me out, and I’m hoping that participating in this will do just that! So expect next month to not be entirely…
