An extra day of rest

Exhaustion hit me so hard this weekend, and with it came the kind of headache that causes vertigo and nausea. Ugh. So I’m home today, alternating between sleeping and watching baking shows depending on what how I’m feeling will allow. It’s baffling to me that this time of year always does this to me. Perhaps I need to not summer so hard, hahaha. Either way, at least I know when it’s time to take a step back and give myself an extra day of rest.

I don’t really have a lot to report since the last time I wrote. I’ve still been reading regularly lately and I actually finally finished Never Flinch by Stephen King. Holly Gibney remains one of my all time favorite protagonists, but this particular book didn’t hit quite as hard for me as the last few. Possibly because there was no supernatural element this time around? But man, King can write characters. I would still give it a very solid 4-star rating.

I’ve also been trying to read through books that I already own, and I’ve got a good stack going to choose from. Since I decided to stop buying books last year and solely use the library, I’ve already become a lot better at not letting things pile up. So now my goal is to try and read through the things that have sat unread on my shelves the longest. That way I can decide whether they stay, or whether it’s time for them to move onto a new home. We love when books find a happy new home!

Anyway, stay tuned for a few upcoming reviews! I’ll also be participating in some more book blitzes coming up as well, so there will be giveaways. Hope to see you back here!
