2026 – My Bookish Resolutions

It feels a little wrong that the new year started on a Thursday, doesn’t it? Like, the weekend approaches and yet we are expected to buckle down and set goals for the year. So I’ve decided to postpone my personal goals until the new week starts! It’s always good time for bookish resolutions though. Especially since I have a week off coming up to just rest, relax and catch up on things.
Bookish Resolutions for 2026:
- Write one book review a week
- 2025 was a rough year for reviewing, but I think one a week is a reasonable goal! It’s something that I can also catch up on if need be.
- Keep reading notes
- In 2023 I started the year by putting post-its in my books and taking notes but I fell off of doing it. I want to start again, because it’s a great way to keep track of my thoughts!
- Read one owned book a month
- This is a continued goal from last year, in which I actually made it through 8 of my own books!
- Read two non-fiction books
- It has been a loooooong time since I’ve read a non-fiction book and I’d like to try again.
- 2026 Physical Book No-Buy
- In 2025 I bought a total of 10 books in the entire year. Instead I borrowed from the library, listened to audio books, read the books on my shelves and traded books with friends. I’d love to make it through a whole year with buying no new books. It will motivate me to finish the ones I already own.
I’m feeling confident that these are things that I can accomplish, and that makes me feel really good! It’s been a tough time finding a balance between wanting to blog and making reading something that feels like a chore. I burnt myself out really hard in 2022, and took a big step back from here. But I miss it. I miss sharing reviews and I really miss creating content! So I think it makes sense to just approach this slowly, cautiously, and ramp up when it feels right.
I know that I say it a lot, but thank you so much for sticking with me! Through the silences and through the crazy dumps of content. You’re the best. Here’s to a stellar 2026!
