A Quiet Start to the Year

It’s been a quiet, but lovely start to the year so far! I’m so pleased with the fact that I actually finished five full books last month, and that I only bought one new physical book. In case you’re wondering what I chose, I found the most beautiful book ever and absolutely had to have it. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh is a feminist retelling of a classic Korean fairytale. Doesn’t that sound amazing? I know! It sounds amazing. You should go check out the cover and fall in love too, because it is absolutely worth your time.

Now, to be fair, I did buy three other books as well. Hahaha. However they were all Kindle versions and all from Indie authors. I’m doing my absolute best this year to vary my reading not only in terms of genre and author, but also to read more Indie pubbed books. There are so many gems out there, and I’ve been entrenched in standard publishing for the last year that I feel like I missed them. So expect a lot of reviews of fun books that I bought just because they caught my eye. I promise to share them!

In final news, HDB Romance Bingo has begun! There’s still so much time to join us if you’d like to read some great books, chat with some great people, and possibly win some prizes! Check out this post, and feel free to DM me if you want to be added to our group! I love new friends. Book bingo always gives me a great excuse to read more than normal, and share my reads with others. I love it.

That’s it for now! New reviews coming next week. Happy almost weekend friends!
