Interviewing (the swoon worthy) Magnus from the Blood Coven series!

The ever stunning (and talented) Mari Mancusi is on the blog today. Lucky me!!! She’s here to promote the newest book in the Blood Coven Series, Blood Ties. I cannot wait for this one!

For those of you who may not be familiar with this series, the snarky wit and delicious chemistry of the characters is to die for. Part humor, part vampire lore, all scrumptious, these are books to watch out for.

I was lucky enough to score an interview with the handsome, debonair, and very swoon worthy Magnus. He’s in love with Sunny, but reading these books makes me wish I could steal him away. I’ll let Magnus take it from here.

1) Welcome Magnus! I’d like to start with a challenge. If you had to describe yourself in a tweet (only 140 characters) what would you say?

Vampire leader of the Blood Coven. Former knight in shining armor. In love with Sunny McDonald. Loyal, brave, and a bit of a workaholic.
2) How would you describe Sunny?
Ah my Sunny. She’s beautiful, brave, sweet and loving. She’ll do anything for her family and the people she loves. Unfortunately because of some childhood abandonment issues with her dad, she’s a bit untrusting of men. Even me. I have to work overtime to prove my loyalty and devotion to her. It’s not always easy–but she’s definitely worth it!
3) Do you feel like things have changed a lot between the two of you since you met?
Heh. Well, yes. At first she hated me. Of course, she had good reason–I’d accidentally bitten her and turned her into a vampire–thinking she was her twin sister, Rayne. But as we joined forces to figure out a way to return her mortality, we ended up becoming very close and fell in love. We’ve had our ups and downs since then; when my coven assigned me a new blood mate in Las Vegas, for example, I almost lost her to a mortal boy named Jayden. But we’ve hung in there, worked on our relationship and putting one another first. I think we’re closer now, because of all the adversity we’ve had to face. All I know is I’d do anything for her. I just wish what she wanted was not always so at odds with what my coven needs me to do. It’s tough being a leader and a boyfriend. I want to take care of her, but, at the same time, I can’t abandon the vampires who need me.
4) How do you feel about the upcoming battle royale against Slayer Inc? Are you optimistic about it?
I’m a bit worried, to be honest. Not only because the fringe group of Slayer Inc–The Alphas–may have unlocked the secret to creating vampiric fairies–a new species that would be almost invincible–but also because our own Consortium leader, Pyrus, seems to be letting his power go to his head. He wants war and if anyone speaks out against him, he threatens to expel them from the Consortium. It’s not a good situation for anyone.
5) If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be?
I’d like to be better able to relax. I’m often very uptight, especially when I have important matters on my mind. And I know that bugs Sunny. She wants to have fun, to enjoy our relationship. And I do, too! But it’s hard for me to let go and leave work behind when the lives of my vampire subjects depend on me.
6) Do you have any thoughts on Jayden?
I don’t know him very well. But I do know that Sunny still has feelings for him, even though she refuses to admit it. And that makes me very nervous. I wish he’d leave our lives and never come back. But I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. Like a bad penny, he keeps coming back for more. Personally, I don’t know what she sees in the guy. And what she’s getting from him that she can’t get from me.
7) Finally, and thanks for stopping by, what is one wish that you have for the future?
Thank you for having me. My one wish would be that the conflict between vampires and slayers will be resolved peacefully and no one will get hurt. Giving me more time to spend making my Sunny happy.

Thank you Mari and Magnus so much for stopping by!
