2016: The Year We Found Our Castle

Okay, so I don’t actually have a castle. That’d be way too much cleaning, and much too drafty for my liking. I’d have to invite all of you to come and stay too, because I hate empty space. Yeah, no castles for this girl. However my husband and I are calling this “The Year We Found Our Castle”, because our last name is Nottingham, and we’ve found a home.
Get it? Yeah, it’s cheesy. I’m owning it!
So yes! We’ve found a home. A real, actual house to call our very own.
As renters for the last 9 years, we’ve gotten used to moving our things around. We’ve become accustomed to never amassing too many items, and always being ready to move at the drop of a hat. It was fun for a while. A good way to meet new people, and explore new places. Now, though, I found myself at this place in my life where all I want is stability. A place of my own.
If you asked me 5 years ago whether I wanted a house, I would have told you that I’d be cool with apartment living, or possibly condo living, forever. Ah, past Jessica. You crazy girl you. Current Jessica is dancing with joy over the fact that she’ll have a real backyard, with a real kitchen. Grown up things, am I right?
Anyway, that’s why things haven’t been quite as busy as usual. My focus is on getting things ready to move and then, of course, getting them moved in! Expect posts from me about gardening, and cooking over the next few months. I’m so dang excited about this, and you can be sure I’ll share that with you.
