This or That? with Kate Hinderer

Please welcome Kate Hinderer to the blog today! She is the author of Aurora Undefined, which is currently on an epic blog tour, and I’m happy to have her stop by Hopelessly Devoted Bibliophile.

I asked Kate a series of questions, and let her choose her answer. She was sweet enough to even give us a little bit of background! Let’s read, shall we?

Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate? – I don’t eat chocolate. Since I was little it never agreed with me and now it actually gives me headaches. Weird, right?!

Baking or cooking? – I actually love both, but I like the freedom to experiment that cooking gives you. There is no right or wrong. Sometimes with baking if you get too creative the whole thing ends up flopping and it is a disaster. I’m all about making healthy and delicious dishes. I recently tried making this Green Goddess Salad and it was delicious!!! (http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/green_goddess_salad.html)
Sandals or shoes? – I’d go barefoot all the time if I could. I hate shoes, always have. In 6th grade I tried to start a no-shoe at school movement. Obviously, it did not get very far.
Writing by hand or on the computer? – Computer! Although if I am away from technology I will use a notebook, but I find my thoughts can’t get down on paper fast enough if I am writing it out long hand. The computer speeds the whole process up and makes me more productive. Although, I do all my edits with a hard copy and red pen in hand.
Pirates or ninjas? – Um, pirates! Have you seen Johnny Depp??
Print books or ebooks? – I just recently got into reading ebooks when I realized I could do that from my Droid. Now I read ebooks almost exclusively. I love how it cuts down on the bulk you have to carry with you from place to place. Plus several books can fit on to one device.
Baseball or basketball? – To watch on TV I’d go with basketball. I’m a huge Chicago Bulls fan and mildly obsessed with Dwayne Wade, even if he plays for the Miami Heat. But if it were to be in the stands, I’d say baseball every time. There is something about the atmosphere and the laid-back mentality of a baseball game that is so attractive. To play – I’d say basketball. I always played center in junior high and high school and all my siblings play too. It’s kinda a family thing.
Digital camera or film camera? – I love photography. I used to use only a film camera to take shots, but it got expensive to develop the film. So instead I stick with the digital camera and try to learn all the nuances of using one.
Mountains or beach? – Growing up in the Midwest I’ve never had much experience with either. It was all flat land and swimming pools. Lately I’ve gotten into trail running which is great along mountain paths. But I also love sitting in the sun on the sand with friends, a cold drink and a good book.
Coffee or energy drink? – My New Year’s resolution for 2011 was to go off of caffeine entirely. And thus far I have been really good about it. I love Vitamin water – I suppose that is a little like an energy drink.
Thank you so much for sharing with us Kate!
It’s always nice to get to know a little more about an author whose book you’ll soon devour, isn’t it? Also, in case you don’t have Aurora Undefined on your reading list yet, I’ll give you some more about the book below.

Aurora is entering her senior year and everything around her seems to be falling apart. Her best friend has joined the cool crowd and she struggles to grapple with the loss. But when tragedy strikes, Aurora realizes what loss is really all about and how moving on becomes a fight of the will, mind and heart.
